Camping Biper Gorri can be found at the heart of Basque country, south of Cambo-les-Bains. This is a small site of 70 touring pitches, all of which are grassy and mostly shaded. There are a number of mobile homes and fully equipped bungalow-style tents available to rent. The site boasts an attractive pool complex with a large main pool and separate children’s pool. The site is livelier in peak season with a children’s club, regular entertainment and activities for all the family. Excursions include accompanied rafting and canoe trips.

Trout fishing is popular in the fast flowing mountain streams close at hand, and mountain biking is also a very popular pursuit. The Petit Train de la Rhune is a delightful narrow gauge cog railway which slowly winds from the Col de Saint Ignace to the summit of La Rhune (905 m) with magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and Basque coastline. The fashionable seaside resort and fishing port of Saint Jean-de-Luz is also within easy access. The small town of Espelette is within walking distance and has many speciality shops selling local produce with free tastings. There are many other towns worth visiting, Sare (13 km) has large underground caverns or Grottes – nice and cool on a hot summers day.

Location

Take the exit for Bayonne Sud from A64 motorway (Maignon) and take D932 to Ustaritz. Continue to Cambo-les-Bains and then take D10 to Espelette. The site is well signed in the village.
