Bel Ombrage is a quiet, well maintained site in a pretty location by the little River Céou, with a pebble beach that is safe and clean for bathing. The site has a good pool complex, but otherwise there are few on-site facilities because the owner has a deliberate policy of providing peace and quiet during the evening. The 180 well shaded, good sized and flat grass pitches are marked by trees and bushes and all have electricity 10 Amp. The quiet and tranquil setting makes the site particularly popular with couples. Bel Ombrage is very close to Domme and Castelnaud and would make an ideal and inexpensive base for visiting the southern Dordogne area.

Adjacent to the site is a snack bar and pizzeria which is popular with campers. It is a short walk to the village of Saint Cybranet with bar, restaurant and a small, well-stocked supermarket and a short drive takes you to the beautifully restored village of Daglan. A park and ride service operates from the school in Sarlat during July and August; you can park your car or motorhome and take the bus into town for a small charge.

Two modern toilet blocks with individual cubicles are kept spotlessly clean with accessible facilities, the smaller one was being refurbished in 2019. Laundry facilities. Bread to order. Large swimming pool with sun terrace, paddling pool. Play area. Fishing. Excursions can be booked at reception. WiFi (free). American motorhomes and Twin axle caravans accepted. Pets allowed. Late night arrivals area. Bike Hire near by. Games room. Football pitch.

Location

Site is 14 km south of Sarlat. From Sarlat take D46 signed Bergerac, the road then continues as D57, after 8 km turn left at Vezac signed Castelnaud. After 1.6 km at T-junction turn left onto D703 and 180m turn right onto D57.Continue through Castelnaud on D57 to site on left after 3 km.
