Alan Rogers Review
This site is ideally suited, both for those travelling to and from the Turkish border at Ipsala/Kipi and also for those wishing to explore the north of Greece. It provides 125 small pitches with electricity, well shaded by tall trees and offers good low season camping opportunities. It is likely to be very busy with families in the high season. Istanbul is an easy day’s drive away, even allowing for the border formalities. Visas for entry into Turkey are swiftly obtained (payment in euros, they will not accept Turkish Lira or Sterling).
Indeed, you can enjoy a wonderful stay in Istanbul without leaving Europe since you don’t enter Asia until you cross the Sultan Mehmet toll bridge. A trip into Kavala is well worth it, as is a meal at the Panos Zafira restaurant on the quayside where you should try their speciality, Sardines Streamy (marinated in olive oil and lemon juice).
Two excellent toilet blocks include good showers, WCs and washbasins. Bar. Restaurant with terrace (1/4-30/9). Snack bar and takeaway (1/6-31/8). Managed beach. Paddling pool (1/6-1/9). Play area. English is spoken. WiFi.

Site is 4 km. southwest of Kavala on the coast. From Central Greece leave the motorway before Kavala and drive along the coastal road towards Kavala. Drive towards the town and site is on the right on an incline after a right hand bend.
