Alan Rogers Review
The western shoreline of Puglia offers beaches of excellent quality, interspersed with small villages and some holiday complexes. The Baia di Gallipoli campsite is in a quiet rural area to the southwest of the town on a minor coast road. It offers 600 pitches, all with 6A electricity, under pine and eucalyptus trees. Cars are parked in a separate area and access for vehicles is strictly controlled, which gives the site a quiet, peaceful ambience. Although it is 800 m. from the beach it has solved that problem in partnership with others by providing regular shuttle buses to the beach car park.
The sites jointly fund a bar and restaurant on the beach with toilets and showers. The short walk to the beach from the car park is along a timber walk, and site staff clear the beach and the pine wood behind of rubbish daily. Michele Annese and the other staff clearly have a pride in their work and this is reflected in the standards offered and maintained. This is a good, peaceful site in low season and also great for family holidays in July and August when excursions and entertainment are always on offer.
Five clean, modern toilet blocks have been recently refurbished and include facilities for disabled visitors, both on the site and at the beach. Motorcaravan services. Washing machines. Shop. Bar and restaurant. Swimming pool. Tennis. 5-a-side football. Volleyball. Bocce. Fitness trail. Bicycle, car and fridge hire by arrangement. Children’s clubs (4-12 yrs, 13-17 yrs). Entertainment. WiFi in bar and pool area (free). Shuttle bus to beach.

The SS101 motorway south of Bari heads first to Lecce, then turns southwest towards Gallipoli. Join the SS274 towards Santa Maria di Leuca and exit at Lido Pizzo. Follow the coast road (SP215) towards Gallipoli and site is on the right 4 km. before Gallipoli.
