Alan Rogers Review

On the edge of Lake Bracciano, the source of Rome’s water supply, is this small, typically Italian campsite. It has 72 small touring pitches out of a total of 120 and is heavily wooded which offers shade but limits accessibility. The steep narrow entrance from the SP4 is not suitable for larger caravans or motorcaravans. A bus from just outside the site connects with the train station at Bracciano which has regular trains to Rome. This site is very busy in high season, when the population of Rome seek a cooler more relaxing location to spend their holidays, so expect the limited sanitary provision to be stretched.

In addition to Rome, the site offers a good location to visit other medieval and Etruscan towns, and the coast is not that far away. The one day travel card to Rome offers an ideal way to visit all the sights, but don’t forget to throw a coin in the Trevi fountain to ensure you return.
