Aux Rives du Soleil is a spacious and relaxed, family run campsite beside the unfenced, wide and sometimes powerful river Saône, which forms the border between Burgundy and Rhône-Alpes. There are 260 grass pitches with 240 used for touring units, plus 19 mobile homes and tents for hire. Some are separated by beech hedges with shade, sometimes heavy, while others are on open grassland. Many have pleasant river or country views. All have electricity (6A) but extremely long leads are sometimes needed. There is some occasional noise from the river, the distant motorway and the TGV. At certain times access for heavy outfits may be difficult due to soft pitches. Twin axle caravans and large motorhomes are accepted.

The site is excellent for people who love to fish or to explore the surrounding area by bike or on foot. There is a small but charming bar and restaurant with a terrace overlooking the river. There is also a takeaway service on site. In high season, there is another restaurant/snack bar close to the main pool, overlooking the river.

Facilities at Camping Aux Rives du Soleil

There are two toilet blocks with accessible facilities in one block, one accessed by steep stairs. Some pitches are a long way from these blocks. Very small shop in reception. Bar/restaurant with TV room, takeaway (all season). Unheated swimming pool (21/5-11/9). Unheated paddling pool and play area by entrance. Entertainment for children up to 12 yrs (July/Aug). Small children’s club and some family activities (high season). Riding. Bicycle hire. River bathing and fishing. Boat launching and canoeing. WiFi (free).

Directions to Camping Aux Rives du Soleil

Leave A6 at Tournus and head south on the D906. At Fleurville take the D933a across the Saône. The entrance is immediately on the right after crossing the river. Well signed.
