Alan Rogers Review
Camping Auf der Loreley is a natural site perched high over the Rhine valley offering spectacular views over the river deep below. Of the 100 pitches, there are 80 for touring units. The site is fairly open and is divided into large grass areas on various levels by hedges and simple fences. The pitches are unmarked, some slightly sloping with a few mature trees providing some shade. Some less accessible areas are reserved for tents. Most pitches can be provided with electricity (10/16A) although long cables may be necessary. Fresh water, as the jovial and helpful owner Paul Heinrich will tell you, comes out of a tree. From the terrace of the bar/restaurant there are views of the Rhine, although the best view is from a grass area near the cliff edge.
This is an ideal area for setting up a table and enjoying a leisurely meal accompanied by wine from this famous wine region. This is a good site to use when touring in the region. There is some, not too intrusive, train and boat noise from the valley.
Adequate sanitary facilities in one block contain washbasins, controllable showers with free hot water. Laundry room with sinks, washing machine and dryer. Fresh bread to order from reception. Bar/restaurant with terrace. Play area.

After 100 m. turn left (Altstadt, Bornich). Towards top of the hill follow Loreley sign to right and site is on left.
