Alan Rogers Review
In comparison to the gigantic sites along this coastline, this smaller site has only 300 pitches mostly occupied by static holiday caravans. The site is 200 m. from the impressive Roman monument, Arc de Bara, and 60 m. from a superb beach. The beach is accessed by a rear gate in the site perimeter and its soft sand shelves gently into the waves. The 30 pitches for touring units are generally shaded, are of average size (60-70 sq.m) and are somewhat set apart from the very extensive permanent pitches, but there is a distinct feeling of compression.
The unusual feature of this site, perpetrated by one of the owners, is the modernistic design theme used on many of the camp building exteriors and interiors. This theme is continued at the attractive large heated swimming pool and children’s pool elevated above the site’s ground level and forming a curved arrowhead shape. The shop, bar and restaurant close to the entrance are open every day between July and Sept. and at weekends only all other times of the year, as is the bar near the beach access (the site is open all year).
Three very clean toilet blocks are of various designs (one a most unusual elevated circular building) and a fourth without showers. Units for disabled visitors. Limited facilities for babies. Washing machines and dryers. Swimming pools. Bars. Restaurant. Snack bars. Supermarket. Small play area. Some entertainment in season. Torches required in some areas.
