Alan Rogers Review
This simple and friendly campsite is located in the Mosel valley amongst vineyards and alongside the River Moselle with a convenient 10 minute walk to the lovely town of Cochem. The grassy pitches all have electricity and although can be on the small side, the location more than makes up for this. There is an outdoor swimming pool with sauna, solarium and whirlpool for those who wish to relax for the day, or you can swim in the nearby river. The on- site Camping Klaus bistro serves snacks and take away, and the cosy beer garden is a perfect way to end a busy day. Some road and train noise can be heard from across the river. There are 2 good supermarkets nearby where you can shop for your daily camping needs. Long extension cables are recommended.
The lovely town of Cochem is certainly worth exploring with its half timbered houses, medieval old town and its romantic Richburg castle keeping a steady watch over the town. There are also plenty of shops, restaurants and bars to explore where you can sit and enjoy a local Riesling.
Clean sanitary facilities with disabled access, Small bistro and beer garden, 80% wifi coverage with 4G, Charcoal and gas barbeques permitted, fresh bread available, Takeaway service, Fishing, Marked out walking and cycling routes, Small children’s play area. Pets allowed (limited to 2 dogs per pitch)
From the south follow the river from Belstein on the L98 and follow signs Cochem, continue on Valwiger (L98) and turn left on to Zehnthausstrasse for 130m then right on to Breite Strasse for 55m, then right again on to Uferstrasse for 140m and continue on to Stadionstrasse for 1.1km until you arrive at Cochem Camping.Link to campsite location map on google
