Alan Rogers Review
Alpes Dauphiné is situated at an altitude of 800 m. on a south-facing slope in the Hautes-Alpes, close to the interesting regional centre of Gap. This is a pretty site extending over six acres, attractively covered by alpine flowers and trees, and with some fine views over the surrounding mountains. The 180 pitches (100 sq.m) are all well shaded and all have electricity connections. The site restaurant, close to the entrance, specialises in traditional cuisine and local specialities. These can also be enjoyed on the restaurant’s flower bedecked terrace. Takeaway food (including pizzas) is also prepared in the restaurant’s kitchen.
Gap is an attractive town with a fascinating history and has a very wide choice of shops and restaurants, as well as a farmers’ market on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. Various rented accommodation is available (for 2-8 persons).
Well equipped toilet blocks with facilities for disabled persons. Motorcaravan services. Shop. Bar with satellite TV and terrace, restaurant and takeaway (all May-Sept). Swimming pool and jacuzzi. Paddling pool. Weekly activity and entertainment programme. Children’s club (July/Aug). Accompanied mountain walks. Free bus from site to Gap, local markets, Charance and Col Bayard golf course.
