Alan Rogers Review
This mature, shaded site beside the River Aude in the town of Trèbes offers good value. Formerly run by the Municipality, it provides 70 large, level grass pitches, all hedged and 48 with 10A electricity connections. The pitches by the fenced river bank do not have electricity. All facilities are nearby and in high season a pleasant little bar operates providing a simple menu and some entertainment. Visitors to the site have the free use of the municipal swimming pool next door and there is access to the river bank for fishing. Medieval Carcassonne is nearby.
Trèbes is an attractive small town on the Canal du Midi, and the Aude river, close to Carcassonne – the canal port is used extensively by those in boats for visiting the old Cité de Carcassonne. Cathar castles abound in the area and the Minervois wine is good.
