Lac des Sapins is deep within the Beaujolais countryside, close to the large lake that gives the site its name and the pretty village of Cublize. There are 181 pitches with 127 large, reasonably level, grassy touring pitches, all with electricity (6A), and 56 accommodation options for rental. They are separated by high hedges and mature trees give some shade. On-site amenities include a multisports pitch, a tennis court and entertainment in high season. A bathing area and various watersports, including pedaloes for hire, are available on the nearby lake. Supplementary charges are made for twin-axle caravans.

Generally not too challenging and with a gentle climate, southern Burgundy is wonderful walking and cycling country. The great city of Lyon is just an hour away and is, of course, renowned as France’s gastronomic capital. Le Vieux Lyon is made up of dozens of inviting, narrow streets with seemingly hundreds of tempting bistros and brasseries. The city features on UNESCO’s World Heritage list and there is much of interest for visitors.

Two toilet blocks have some washbasins in cubicles, good sized controllable showers and a separate large shower and accessible facilities,. Snack bar by lake (July/Aug). Swimming lake. Location

Approaching from the east (Meaux la Montagne), head west on D504 to Cublize and the site is well signed in the village.
