Alan Rogers Review
This large site, located between Gruisson and Narbonne Plage, on the edge of a vast sandy beach, is now owned by the Campéole group. There are over 700 pitches with 90 safari style tents and over 300 mobile homes and chalets that vary in style. The 400 touring pitches are well spaced out amongst the sort of trees and shrubs which grow near the beach, providing varying degrees of shade. Pitches are on sandy grass with 6A electricity.
A shop, bar and snack bar provide pizzas and other snacks in the main season, and there are some musical evenings in July and August. A pool complex has been added to the site which includes a special area for children.
The site makes a good base for exploring the area. Narbonne City with its old town and Cathedral, Carcassone with its medieval town, and Gruissan, known for its distinctive wooden houses on stilts are well worth a visit. There are also opportunities to sail, windsurf and water ski or you can enjoy climbing, rambling or cycling in the Massif de la Clape, the small mountain range between Narbonne itself and Narbonne Plage.
