Alan Rogers Review

Cherry Hinton is a compact, quiet and peaceful site, open to non members. It is set in a disused quarry surrounded by tall trees and wild flowers, yet close to the university city of Cambridge, with a frequent bus service just a few minutes’ walk away. The site has 56 small to medium sized pitches, mostly shaded by mature trees and shrubs. Six grass pitches are reserved for tents, 48 are on hardstanding and all have 16A electricity and a TV aerial point. There is an excellent heated sanitary block and a small shop, but no other facilities. Cycling is very popular here.

The wonderful city of Cambridge has much to offer including museums, theatres, shops, tours of the ancient colleges, punting on the River Cam and open-top bus tours. The city is easily explored on foot, by bicycle or by bus, and you are advised to leave the car on site or in the nearby Park and Ride car park (height restriction). The National Trust properties of Anglesey Abbey, Wimpole Hall and Wickham Fen are easily reached. There is a wealth of information on site to help you plan your visits.
