Alan Rogers Review

About as far west as one can get in Wales, St Davids is Britain’s smallest city, noted for its cathedral and Bishop’s Palace. This cliff-top park in west Wales has direct access to the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and a magnificent sandy beach is just a few minutes away, down a path from the car park by the site entrance. Altogether there are 105 touring pitches (including 78 for tents) and 45 electric hook-ups (10A), with 16 hardstandings. Main access roads are tarmac. The camping area is spread over three open and sloping fields (chocks are often necessary). All have magnificent views over Saint Brides Bay. The caravan field also has a small number of holiday homes and is closest to reception.

The second and third fields are for tents and motorcaravans, almost all on grass with a few hardstandings available. Caerfai farm shop is across the lane (opens at the end of May), and other shops and services are just a mile away. Site lighting is deliberately minimal, so a torch would be useful.

Three main heated buildings house the sanitary facilities, one by reception contains facilities for disabled visitors and families, dishwashing, laundry, cooking facilities (hot plate, microwave and fridge). Adjacent a small block offers 3 unisex cubicles (WC and basin). The third, in the tent field, includes 4 family rooms, dishwashing, microwave, fridge, toaster, wet suit washing and drying area. Motorcaravan services. Bicycle storage. Gas. Barbecue stands for hire. Dog walking area (dogs not accepted in the tent field in high season). WiFi (charged). Charging points for phones and tablets (in secure lockers).
