Alan Rogers Review

Conveniently situated for the Peak District, yet nestling peacefully in the idyllic valley floor, Buxton Caravan Club Site is the ideal location for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life without sacrificing home comforts. It has 117 large, mainly hardstanding pitches, all with 16A electricity and TV hook-ups. The delightful town of Buxton, with its colourful Pavilion Gardens, is nearby. The Opera House is of great interest and is home to a wide range of events, including the world famous festival in mid July to August. Maximum unit length 9 m. Only backpacking tents accepted.

This is the ideal destination for seeing the best of England’s rolling countryside, either on foot or by bicycle. A choice of stately homes can be found close to the site, and there are many local customs to discover, such as the folk art of ‘well dressing’, an ancient form of flower arranging, dating from Pagan times.

A centrally positioned, heated sanitary block provides free showers and facilities for children and disabled visitors (RADAR key). Laundry room. Motorcaravan services. Shop sells basics, including newspaper and milk. Woodland walks. Play area. Recycling facility. WiFi over site (charged). Security barrier. Public phone.
