Alan Rogers Review
Brighton is without doubt the South of England’s most popular seaside resort, and Brighton Caravan and Motorhome Club’s site is a first class base from which to enjoy the many and diverse attractions, both in the town and this area of the south coast. A wide tarmac road winds its way through the site from reception, with gravel pitches on either side, leading to terraces with grass pitches on the lower slopes of the valley. The 180 pitches all have 16A electricity, 129 have hardstanding and 13 have water, drainage and TV sockets. Three grass terraces take 25 tents and these have hard parking nearby as a low fence prevents cars being taken onto the camping areas. 10 camping pods and 2 Airstreams to hire.
Although there are trees, many are young so do not yet provide shade. Flower beds add to the attractiveness of the site. It occupies a quiet situation in an almost fully enclosed valley in the South Downs, a mile north of the town’s interesting marina, which has a superstore and good variety of shops and restaurants. The site fully lives up to the very high standards expected from the Caravan and Motorhome Club and provides a high quality venue both for a quiet holiday and as a base for sightseeing.
Two heated toilet blocks include all washbasins in private cabins. In the main season a third timber-clad building provides additional services near the tent area. Well equipped room for wheelchair users, another one for walking disabled, and two baby and toddler washrooms. Dish washing area. Laundry facilities. Motorhome services. Gas available. Shop.
