Alan Rogers Review
Bridport Bingham Grange was acquired by the Caravan and Motorhome Club in 2018 and was scheduled for redevelopment early 2020. However the long Coronavirus lockdown prevented this happening and there is no fixed date for the works commencement. The site is currently a very well maintained, purpose built park, attractively laid out and with a very comfortable restaurant. In a pleasant, rural situation two miles from the market town of Bridport, there are views seaward towards West Bay and inland across Beaminster Downs and Pilsdon Hill.
There are 133 individually landscaped pitches (some seasonal), more than 118 with 10 amp electricity and 96 with hardstanding, 26 serviced. In addition there are 28 tent only pitches, 22 having electricity. Shrubs and trees are fully developed in the original field and have been planted in the newer field. Pitches here are level and terraced and have super views. Paths have been created through the woods to the river and there is access to public footpaths (Bridport 20 minutes).
Good dog walks are provided. A limited bus service runs on the main road. The Brit Valley is an unspoilt area of West Dorset with an ancient heritage and coastal West Bay is only a couple of miles. The facilities at this park are good, having been converted from original farm buildings. Originally under private ownership the site was then adults only, since CAMC purchase children are very welcome.
