Alan Rogers Review
Borås Camping is in a park setting 2 km. north of the city centre. This pleasant municipal site is within easy walking distance of Djurpark Zoo and a shopping centre, and is convenient for ferries to and from Göteborg. A tidy, well managed site, it provides 400 large, numbered, level pitches, carefully arranged in rows off good tarmac perimeter roads, on well kept grass with some trees for shade. Electricity (10A) is provided to 300 pitches. Many activities are available, both on site and nearby, such as the excellent Alidebergsbadet outdoor heated pool complex, only 400 m. away and free to campers. A good foot/cycle path leads from the site to the beautiful Lake Öresjö.
Canoes and pedaloes are available on the small canal running through the site. The shopping precinct at Knalleland is only 500 m, the Zoo (Djurpark) is 400 m. The area has many activities on offer and has both lake, indoor and outdoor swimming complexes with slides, chutes and wave machines. The site also has 66 cabins of various sizes and styles to rent, and has a youth hostel within its grounds.
Six sanitary blocks are clean and heated. Facilities for babies and disabled visitors in various combinations. Good campers’ kitchens have hobs, extractor hoods, and sinks (free of charge). Laundry facilities. Motorcaravan services. Shop. Café and takeaway (full services 6/6-15/8). Sauna (charged). Several playgrounds. Minigolf. Pedalos, canoe and rowing boat hire. Free fishing. Free WiFi.
