Alan Rogers Review

This CAMC site is, as always, of a high standard and situated in a quiet rural location north of Bolton Abbey. Located inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park and near too many places to explore and experience to list. With 55 pitches, 38 suitable for awnings, and all with electricity and a TV point the site is great for walkers and nature lovers with 72 miles of footpaths directly accessible from the site. Buses are available from a stop 100 yards from the site. No mobile signal is available from the site so social media fans need to sign for the site WiFi. A public telephone is available so have some silver coins. For those wishing to visit the Abbey a pleasant riverside walk is available from the site.

This is a great rural site located to enjoy the best of the Yorkshire Dales. Surrounded by trees and farmland with no mobile phone or TV signal the site offers a peaceful rest with access to many walking and cycling routes. With excellent facilities the site is popular and busy so booking is essential. The Strid Wood Tea Rooms, right next to the site entrance, does an excellent full English breakfast.

A modern centrally located service block provides, showers, washing cubicles, WCs, disabled facilities, dishwashing sinks, laundry, motorhome service point and chemical toilet emptying point. Two further service points and chemical toilet points around the site. Information room. Dog walk

The site is on the B6160 someway north of Bolton Abbey. If you come from the south (A59) through the village there is a narrow (9’3”) and low (10’6”) entrance arch in the village. From the north you avoid this hazard. The campsite shares an access with Strid Wood and café.
