Alan Rogers Review
This campsite is now permanently closed and is only used for events.
Set amongst eighty-five acres of farmland and woodland, there is an air of spacious informality about this delightful, friendly park which blends perfectly with the surrounding views. Warm Cotswold stone buildings, dovecotes and extensive planting of trees, shrubs and hedges enhance the natural environment of the park. There are 104 numbered pitches, all with 16A electricity, for caravans and motorhomes, in several areas, each with a different character. A separate four-acre field for tents provides a further 40 pitches, including four electricity points. One area near the central buildings is now being landscaped as a formal garden. The site now offers a marquee for wedding receptions, and music may be audible in the caravan park, although it finished around 11.30 pm.
Gravel roads connect the various touring areas which are screened by hedges and trees. A network of circular walks along well-kept grass trails have been developed around the park, including a pleasant river walk. Bench seats and waste bags and bins for dogs are provided. A 15-acre field is available for recreational use. Children are welcome, but there is no play area or baby changing facilities.
Adderbury village is on A4260 Banbury-Oxford road. From north on M40 use exit 11, A422 (Banbury) then A4260. At traffic lights in Adderbury turn on B4100 (Aynho). Park is signed 0.5 miles on right. From the south on the M40 use exit 10 onto A43, then B4100 (Aynho and Adderbury).
