Alan Rogers Review

For those who want to be directly beside Lake Balaton and would like a reasonably quiet location, Camping Venus would be a good choice. Apart from the rather noisy train that regularly passes the site, this is a quiet setting with views of the lake from almost all the pitches. From the front row of pitches you could almost dangle your feet from your caravan in the warm water of the lake. There are 120 flat pitches all with at least 4/10A electricity. Varying in size (70-100 sq.m), almost all have shade.

This is a well kept site with good sanitary blocks and 24 hour security at the gate. Lake Balaton with its water temperature of about 25 degrees Celsius in summer, is obviously the main attraction here, but you can also make several excursions, for example a trip to Budapest or a gipsy night in Riza.

Two acceptable sanitary blocks provide toilets, washbasins (open style and in cabins) with hot and cold water and preset showers. Facilities for disabled campers. Toilets and washbasins for children. Launderette. Motorcaravan services. Shop for basics. Bar. Restaurant. Snack bar. Playground. Daily activity programme with pottery, fairy tale reading, horse shows, tournaments in Sümeg, trips over the lake and to Budapest. Pedalo and rowing boats for hire. WiFi over site (charged).
