This small, well-established, family-orientated, naturist campsite is run by and for its members. It is within ten miles of Brighton and the Sussex coast. The site is ideal for campers wishing to try naturism for the first time without pressure to disrobe until comfortable to do so. The site has extensive sunbathing lawns and many quieter spots in just under six acres of ancient woodland. There is plenty of room for eight caravans or motorhomes (10A electricity), three of them hardstandings, and room around the site for tents. One chalet can be rented. The communal barbecue (most Saturdays), occasional spit roast, solar-heated swimming pool, and clubhouse are all popular gathering points.

Brighton is a lively town, well known for its entertainment and pier. The 45-metre observation wheel has panoramic views over the town and the English Channel. Vineyards offer guided tours and wine-tasting events a little closer to the campsite. The Sussex Downs are full of interesting formal gardens and ancient sites. Nearby are the prehistoric Cissbury Ring hillfort and Neolithic flint mine.

Facilities

Two sanitary blocks with mainly open, pushbutton showers, one private cubicle per block. No laundry. Dishwashing and cooking facilities with the use of a fridge-freezer. Clubhouse. Solar-heated swimming pool. Sauna (£1.50). Short tennis court. Snooker. Darts. Barbecue and spit roast. Chalet to rent.

Location

From A23 southbound, take B2118 Hurstpierpoint, immediate left into Mill Lane. In 0.2 miles, right into Langton Lane. In 0.8 miles turn right (small sign ‘ASC The Weild’) then right fork to first security gate. At second gate press bell and wait to be admitted.
