Alan Rogers Review
Located in the shadow of Allerton Castle, Allerton Park is one of three sites owned by the Hyde family around York. It's well placed for visits to Fountains Abbey, Knaresborough, Harrogate and York itself, whilst the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales are further afield but well worth the drive. This wooded site has 24 mainly level touring pitches, placed close together with little space for cars, just a short distance from the sanitary block. The rest of the site houses 136 lodges and static caravans, some of which are available to rent.
The Hyde family’s staff offer a warm and friendly welcome at this small quiet campsite just a mile from the A1(M) Junction 45. Whilst primarily a site for holiday lodges and static caravans, there are some 24 mainly level pitches, many occupied by seasonal caravans leaving about 6 hardstandings available for touring units. The site is shielded by large mature trees so some shade is available.
A small sanitary block is centrally located and equipped with showers, WCs, washing facilities and separate area for dishwashing and chemical disposal.
