Alan Rogers Review
Alderstead Heath is a surprisingly rural site given that it lies just 35 minutes from central London by train. It is also well located for exploring the North Downs and is situated on the Pilgrim’s Way. There are 161 touring pitches, all with 16A electricity connections. Most pitches are on well kept grass and there are also 68 hardstandings. Given the proximity of the M25 and M23 motorways, this is a convenient stop en route to and from Dover. There are numerous walks and cycle routes to explore in the area .
An attractive wooded area surrounds the site with some concrete tracks that were laid during the war for tanks in preparation for the D-Day landings. Part of the site is used for seasonal pitches.
Two well maintained toilet blocks include a family bathroom. The main block houses facilities for disabled visitors. Laundry facilities. Motorcaravan services. Reception stocks a small range of essential foods, milk and gas. Two small play areas. Football field. Good tourist information room. WiFi throughout (charged).

Leave M25 at exit 8 and join A217 (signed Reigate). Fork left after 300 yds. (signed Merstham). After a further 2.5 miles turn left at T-junction and join A23. After 500 yds. turn right on B2031 Shepherd’s Hill (signed Caterham) and after 1 mile left into Dean Lane. Site is on right after 175 yds. Avoid sat nav route via M23/A23 (J7) where Dean Lane is very narrow.
