The biggest caravanning and camping event of the season is almost upon us: the Caravan and Camping Show at Birmingham’s NEC. Running from 18-23 February and covering 70,000m2 (the size of 10 football pitches), the show displays all the latest caravan, motorhome and holiday home models, plus tents, camping gear and accessories.
It’s kicked off by Countryfile presenter Julia Bradbury and world land speed record breaker Andy Green OBE, who will be accompanied by his 1,000mph land speed car, Bloodhound. Bradbury, the new president of the Camping and Caravanning Club, will be meeting visitors and taking part in cooking demonstrations throughout the day.
Wednesday and Thursday will see 2012 Britain’s Got Talent winners Ashleigh and Pudsey performing live, while on Thursday TV presenter Helen Skelton will be answering visitors’ questions about her fundraising adventures. These include kayaking solo along the entire length of the Amazon River and cycling to the South Pole.
TV presenter Andy Torbut will be talking about his passion for the great outdoors on Friday 21 February alongside actress, chef and author Lisa Faulkner, who will be sharing some great ideas for meals that can be cooked on a camping stove. She’ll be followed up by Jos
h Sutton, author of the camping cookbook ‘Guyrope Gourment’, on Saturday and chef Mark Lloyd on Sunday.
And of course, the Alan Rogers team will be there all week with our latest selection of free brochures, discounted guides and your chance to win a €1,000 holiday with Campeole. Stop by our stand – number 4616 in Hall 4 – to say hello and get some holiday ideas for 2014.
