Alan Rogers Review
‘The island where time stands still’ is an apt description of Sark, one of the smallest inhabited Channel Islands, some 45 minutes from Guernsey by boat. Situated five minutes from the shops and ten from the beach, the Pomme de Chien campsite is small with only 50 pitches, of which eight are occupied by fully equipped tents for rent. The remainder are for campers with their own tents (no caravans, motorcaravans or trailer tents of course). The pitches are large, on fairly level ground, but none have electricity hook-ups. There is a warm welcome from the owners Chris and Jill Rang with the famous charm of Sark.
Location
Getting there...
Take the tractor-drawn ‘train’ up Harbour Hill (90p; you can walk but it is a ten minute hike). Once at the top take road leading off left, then second right, and follow the lane to the site entrance. Reception is at house with white gates.
