On a coastal route, this extremely popular site, in a very scenic location with a magnificent backdrop, is close to the largest Maelstrom in the world. It is an easy short walk to this outstanding phenomenon. As well as 20 cabins, the site has 60 plain touring pitches mostly on level, gravel hardstandings in rows, each with electricity (10A). A few ‘softer’ pitches are available for tents. The nearby fjord is renowned for the prolific numbers of coalfish and cod caught from the shore. Many ‘have a go’ to catch their evening meal. You are advised to arrive by late afternoon.

Getting there...
Travelling from the south: Before Rognan take Rv 812 signed Saltstraumen. At junction with Rv 17 turn right. Site on left immediately after second bridge. From the north: From Rv 80 (Fauske - Bodø) turn south on Rv 17, site is 12 km. at Saltstraumen on right immediately before bridge.
