Oberhof Camping

Frankenhain, Thuringia, North East

Alan Rogers Review

Beside a lake, at an altitude of 700 metres and quietly hidden in the middle of the Thüringer forest, Camping Oberhof has seen many changes since the departure of its former owners, the East German secret police. There are 150 touring pitches, all with electricity (10A Europlug) and 52 with water and drainage. From this fairly open site there are views of the surrounding forests and of the lake which is bordered by wide grass areas ideal for a picnic or for just lazing around and enjoying the view. The site is very quiet and has direct access to marked routes for rambling and cycling in the forest.
