Alan Rogers Review
Máré Vára takes its name from an ancient castle situated a few kilometres down the road where the German noble family of Mariën once lived. The site is on archaeological ground: where now the main house stands, there used to be a monastery and centuries before that there was an ancient Roman settlement. Some 62 pitches (36 with 10A electricity) are on slightly sloping, well kept fields. On site is a small swimming pool (7x3 m) and across the road is a new larger pool. Modern toilet facilities are in an old barn and here in the walls one can see remains of the former monastery.
