Alan Rogers Review
Camping Westende is a large holiday site near the sea. Of the 370 pitches, half are taken by seasonal caravans plus 43 rental units, leaving about 100 touring pitches on grass and with 10A electricity, plus a group of 24 serviced pitches with water, waste water drain and electricity. The site seems reasonably well cared for, but on a previous visit, some pitches were looking rather worn, perhaps partly because of the rigid pitching policy which dictates that caravans have to be placed on a specific side of the pitch.
Facilities
Four toilet blocks were well cared for when we visited, but reportedly have suffered from heavy use and variable maintenance and cleaning in high season. One block renovated in 2010. Good facilities for children and disabled people in furthest block but access very difficult at time of visit. Shop, bar, restaurant and takeaway (Easter-November, but weekends only outside July/Aug. and certain public holidays). Adventure playground. Tennis. Boules. Children’s entertainment and activities programme (July/Aug). Bicycle hire. Max. 2 dogs.
