Hill of Oaks Caravan Park

Windermere, Cumbria, Cumbria

Alan Rogers Review

This park on the banks of Lake Windermere lives up to its name, Hill of Oaks. Set on a hillside in mature woodland, the park offers families a safe natural environment with nature walks through the managed ancient woodlands, as well as six jetties for boat launching and access to watersport activities (jet skis are not allowed). The road into the park passing the farmhouse is long, winding and narrow, so long outfits should ring ahead for a different access, reception being about half a mile from the entrance. Although the park is situated on Lake Windermere the touring pitches nestle within the trees, not actually by the lake. All 43 have electricity (16A), digital TV hook-up and hardstanding.
