Alan Rogers Review
Hele Valley is a well-established park which has been in the same family for over 30 years. Located a mile from Ilfracombe in a wooded valley, it is only a few minutes walk from Hele Bay beach. Here, quaint coves and coastal paths reveal a genuine smuggler’s cave. Apart from the 80 attractively laid out caravan holiday homes (20 for rent), the park caters for tents, motorcaravans and smaller caravans only because of the difficult access. Some 50 pitches are set in two lush green fields surrounded by trees and hedges. Being in a valley, some of the pitches are terraced. Eight dedicated gravel pitches for motorcaravans have electricity and water and 50 for tents (12 large ones) have hook-ups.

Getting there...
From Ilfracombe, take A399 east towards Combe Martin. With Ilfracombe swimming pool on the left, proceed down the hill for a further 400 yds. and, at brown Hele Valley sign, take sharp right turn (easier to approach from Combe Martin). Go down steep road and continue to T-junction (right-angled and narrow). Turn right to the park. From Combe Martin follow A399 west for 8 miles, past golf course on left. Continue down hill then left at the brown Hele Valley sign and as above. O.S. GR: SS533474.
