Hawkchurch Country Park

Axminster, Devon, West Country

Alan Rogers Review

Although just 4 miles from the historic seaside town of Lyme Regis and 2 miles from Axminster itself, Hawkchurch Park enjoys a peaceful, rural situation with wonderful views over the Axe Valley. The park is set on a sloping hillside with a number of camping areas and is edged at the back with tall mature trees. In total there are 299 pitches with around 100 occupied by seasonal units in their own area and another section of 33 privately owned mobile homes. A further five are available to let. Most of the touring pitches have been levelled and have either concrete or gravel hardstanding, 208 have 16A electricity. Tent pitches are on grass and mostly in their own fields.

Getting there...
The best route to avoid narrow roads is to leave the A35 between Charmouth and Axminster at the Hunters Lodge pub and travel north on the B3165 for 1.5 miles. At Wareham Cross signpost follow sign to left for Hawkchuch and site almost immediately on left. O.S.GR: SY344985.
