Family run parks for families with direct access to their own private beach are rare in Britain and this one has the added advantage of being in beautiful coastal countryside in West Dorset. It also has an excellent new leisure centre that includes a gym, ten-pin bowling and an indoor pool. The park is next to the sea and a beach of fine pebbles, sheltered from the wind by pebble banks and has been run by the same family for the last 40 years. Approached by a fairly steep access road, the park itself is on level, open ground. The 500 plus touring pitches, 400 with 10A electricity, are on an open, undulating grass field connected by tarmac or hardcore roads. Caravan pitches (10x11 m) are marked and evenly spaced in lines.
Facilities
Two fully equipped toilet blocks serve the caravan fields and a third newer block is in the tent field. It is a good provision for a busy beach park. Facilities for disabled people (Radar key). Baby care room (key system). Launderette. Bars with wide variety of entertainment and evening shows. Licensed restaurant (weekends only in late season; closed Mondays all season). Main bar and two smaller bars. Good value supermarket and takeaway. New leisure complex with indoor pool, water play area for young children, gym and 10-pin bowling. Heated, supervised outdoor swimming and paddling pools (25/5-25/9) with lessons. Games room with TV, amusements and soft drinks bar. Activities for children. Two play areas. High season pony trekking (stables on site). Internet café and WiFi (charged).
