Forest Holidays Christchurch

Coleford, Gloucestershire, Heart of England

Alan Rogers Review

Set high above the Wye Valley, a partnership between the Forestry Commission and the Camping and Caravanning Club, Forest Holidays makes a perfect family holiday destination. With 280 unmarked pitches (240 for touring), this 20-acre site occupies an open grassy area in the heart of the Forest of Dean. There are seven hardstandings and 102 pitches with electrical hook-ups (10A). The new reception blocue due to be completed in 2010 will include a shop, caféteria and ranger station. A large viewing gallery will overlook the site and the Forest Rangers will hold tutorial events on the life and work of the forest, including ‘Young Explorers’ and ‘Forest Survival’. An accessory shop/bicycle hire and WiFi are planned for 2011.
