This site occupies a prime position on an island in the River Loire within walking distance of the centre of the historic town of Saumur. The 207 touring pitches are mainly on grass with plenty of shade provided by mature trees. Twelve hardstandings nearer the entrance can be rather dusty in dry weather. One hundred and fifty pitches have access to electricity (10A) and some also have water and drainage. Ile d’Offard is useful as an overnight stop on the journey south (or north) but it is also an excellent base from which to visit the numerous châteaux in the region.

Facilities

Three unisex sanitary blocks, one heated in winter, include provision for disabled visitors. Block one has a well equipped laundry. The other blocks are only open in high season. These facilities are generally kept reasonably clean, but are fairly basic and lack finesse. Motorcaravan services. Restaurant and bar (1/5-30/9) with takeaway. Heated swimming, paddling and spa pools (15/4-30/9). Internet access and WiFi (charged). Play area. Some activities and a children’s club, wine tastings, etc. in high season.

Location

Getting there...
From north and A85 exit 3, take D347 south (Saumur). After 2.5 km. go left at roundabout signed ‘Saumur touristique’. Follow old road towards river and town. Cross bridge onto island and immediately go left at roundabout. Site is ahead in 1 km.
