Fernwood is set in an area known as the Shropshire Lake District – the mere at Ellesmere is the largest of nine meres – and the picturesque Shropshire Union Canal is only a few minutes’ walk. The landscaped park is tranquil and presented to a very high standard, the natural vegetation blending harmoniously with trees and shrubs. In addition to 164 caravan holiday homes, with one unit for hire, there are 30 touring pitches (caravans, motorcaravans and trailer tents only) in several well cut, grassy enclosures (including 30 seasonal long stays).
Facilities
The small toilet block for tourers has background heating for cooler days and includes some washbasins in cabins and facilities for disabled campers. Baby changing facilities planned. Basic motorcaravan services. Dishwashing facilities in laundry room, also additional sanitary facilities for ladies and men. Shop doubles as reception (from 1/4-30/10, hours vary). Coarse fishing lake. Forty acres of woodland for walking. Grassy play area for children.
