Alan Rogers Review
Although Ehrwald is in Austria, it is from the entrance of Tiroler Zugspitze that a cable car runs to the summit of Germany’s highest mountain. Standing at 1,200 feet above sea level at the foot of the mountain, the 200 pitches (120 for touring), mainly of stones over grass, are on flat terraces with fine panoramic views in parts. All have electricity connections (16A). The modern reception building at the entrance also houses a fine restaurant with a terrace which is open to those using the cable car, as well as those staying on the site. There are some 30 pitches outside the barrier for late arrivals and overnighters.
