If one follows Hardangerfjord on the map and considers the mighty glacier which once scooped away the land along its path, it is easy to imagine that it started life in Espelandsdalen. For generations farmers have struggled to make a living out of the narrow strip of land between water and rock. One of these farmers has converted a narrow, sloping field bisected by the road (572) into a modest lakeside campsite taking about 50 units. The grassy meadow pitches below the road run right down to the lake shore. There are 30 electrical hook ups (10A). Campers come here for the fishing and walking, or just to marvel at the views of the valley and its towering mountain sides.

Getting there...
The northern loop of the 572 road follows Espelandsdalen and the campsite is on this road, about 6 km. from its junction with route 13 at Granvin.
