Cwmcarn Forest Drive Campsite

Newport, Newport, South Wales

Alan Rogers Review

This forest site, run by Caerphilly Council, is set in a narrow, sheltered valley with magnificent wooded slopes. The park is not only central for the many attractions of this part of Wales, but there is also much of the natural environment to enjoy including a small fishing lake and the seven mile forest drive. The site has a slightly wild feel, but is well located and has 27 well spaced, flat pitches, most with 15A electricity (three with concrete hardstanding), spread over three small fields between the new Visitor Centre and the small lake. Three timber camping pods have been added with another three planned. Wardens are on hand daily.
