Alan Rogers Review
This small, well appointed site with just 60 pitches is directly on the River Danube, near the small town of Schönbühel, and is a convenient night stop being near the Salzburg - Vienna autobahn. The 50 unmarked pitches for touring units, all with electricity (16A), are on flat grass and the site is lit at night. There is shade in most parts and a landing stage for boat trips on the Danube. The main building also houses a Gasthof, with a bar/restaurant of the same name. This is very much a family run site. The Danube cycle track runs past the site.
Location
Getting there...
Leave Salzburg - Vienna autobahn at Melk exit. Drive towards Melk, but continue towards Melk Nord. Just before bridge turn right (Schönbühel and St Polten), at T-junction turn right again and continue down hill. Turn right just before BP filling station (signed Schönbühel) and site is 3 km. on left with narrow entrance, next to the Gasthof Stumpfer.
