Camping Quinta da Cerejeira

Ferreira do Zêzere, Santarem, Lisbon & Vale do Tejo

Alan Rogers Review

This is a delightful, small, family owned venture run by Gert and Teunie Verheij, assisted by Catarina and Rodrigo Santos. It is a converted farm (quinta) and has been coaxed into a very special campsite. The pitches are on flat grass or on long terraces under fruit and olive trees. There are 30 pitches of which 18 have access to 6A electricity (long leads may be needed). There is some shade and the site is full of rustic charm and craft works. It is very peaceful with views of the surrounding green hills from the charming vine-covered patio above a small swimming pool. You will notice the working well, no longer powered by a donkey but you can see where he used to circle to pump water.

Location

Getting there...
From Lisbon take A1/A23 to Torres Novas then IC3 to Tomar and N238 to Ferreira do Zêzere. Take road N348 to Vila de Rei and the site is 1 km. from Ferreira do Zêzere to the eastern side of town (do not go into the town). From Coimbra use the N238 road at an earlier exit.
