Camping Municipal du Château

Falaise, Calvados, Normandy

Alan Rogers Review

The location of this site is really quite spectacular, lying in the shadow of the Château of William the Conqueror, within walking distance of the historic town of Falaise in the ‘coeur de Normandie’. The site itself is small, with only 66 pitches (most with electricity) either beside the little river, on a terrace above or on gently sloping ground. With trees and hedges providing some shade as well as open grassed areas, this site has a rather intimate ‘up-market’ feel about it, different from the average municipal site. Charges are reasonable and the reception friendly.

Location

Getting there...
Falaise is 35 km. southeast of Caen on the route to Alençon and Le Mans. Site on western side of town, well signed from ring road. From N158 heading south take first roundabout into Falaise and follow site signs through residential suburb to site. These roads become one way and 0.6 km. from where you turn into the suburb, there is a 180º left-hand turn downwards; should you overshoot, continue until signage indicates the route back.
