Camping les Mérilles is a small, good quality, family run campsite 500 m. from the small town of Doucier and only 2 km. from the beautiful Lac de Chalain. It has 96 good sized, level, grass pitches separated by hedging. A variety of trees give some shade. There are 73 pitches for touring with 16 having a private bathroom. All have electricity (6/10A). This site is a quieter alternative to the much busier sites near the lake. The surrounding area is well worth exploring and is well known for its lakes, waterfalls and caves. Owners of large outfits should phone ahead to reserve the larger pitches.
Facilities
One modern, well appointed and heated toilet block near reception, one older and very small block plus 16 private cabins to rent with certain pitches. Motorcaravan services. Basic shop and bar with TV (1/6-30/9). Takeaway (1/7-30/9). Outdoor heated pool and paddling pool (1/5-30/9). Playground. Bicycle hire. WiFi (charged). Organised family activities (July/Aug).

Getting there...
Doucier is 25 km. east of Lons-le-Saunier. The site is 500 m. east of Doucier on the D39 with the entrance on the right.
