Alan Rogers Review
A pleasant and well kept, naturally laid out, small mountain site for summer and winter use. Les Deux Glaciers lies at the foot of two glaciers and is close to the well known ski resort of Chamonix. The site has 135 terraced pitches, 100 for touring, with electricity (2-10A). Rock pegs are advised. It is pleasantly laid out with trees and floral displays. There are magnificent views of Mont Blanc Range and the Aiguille-de-Midi. There is significant road noise. Reservations are not taken in summer. Not ideal for large outfits and those with walking difficulties. With a good position and adequate amenities, the site becomes full in July/Aug. The temperature drops as soon as the sun sets and it can be quite cold at night. This is a magnificent region: the summer flowers, walking, bike rides and winter skiing are almost beyond description. Explore the high mountain passes in the area and visit Italy (Courmeveur 21 km) and Switzerland (Martigny 48 km).
