Alan Rogers Review
A popular, lively and attractively situated site, l’Eau Rouge is in a sheltered valley close to Spa and the Grand Prix circuit. There are 180 grassy pitches of 110 sq.m. on sloping ground either side of a central road (speed bumps) – 60 are taken by permanent units and 120 for touring units. The main building houses the busy reception, shop, bar and the main sanitary facilities. There are plenty of sporting activities in the area including skiing and luge in winter. The site is close to the motor race circuit at Spa Francorchamps and is within walking distance for the fit. The site’s Dutch owners have embarked on a five year programme upgrading the infrastructure and have other ideas in the pipeline.
Facilities
There is a main block but a smaller unit serves the touring area. Good numbers of British WCs, mostly open washbasins, but rather fewer hot showers (free) which could be stretched at times. Additional facilities should be available in the near future. Shop. Baker calls daily at 08.30 (in season). Takeaway (in summer). Bar. Boules. Archery (free lessons in high season). Playground. Entertainment in season. Max. 2 dogs.
