Le Grand Large is a well established, quality family site with direct access to a long sandy beach and within a 20 km. drive of Cherbourg. It is a neat and tidy site with 132 touring pitches divided and separated by hedging giving an orderly, well laid out and attractive appearance. A separate area has 40 mobile homes for rent. The reception area is at the entrance (with a security barrier) and the forecourt is decorated with flower beds. To the rear of the site and laid out in the sandhills is an excellent play area with swings, slides and climbing frame. Not surprisingly the sandy beach is the big attraction. The length of units is restricted to eight metres to prevent any problems accessing pitches.
Facilities
Two well maintained toilet blocks. The main one is modern and includes washbasins in cubicles and some family rooms. WCs are mostly to the outside of the building. Provision for disabled visitors. Baby bathroom. Laundry area. Motorcaravan services. Shop for basics, bar (all season). Restaurant and takeaway (30/6-31/8). WiFi throughout (charged). Swimming and paddling pools (21/4-23/9). Play area. Tennis. Boules. Fishing. TV room. Some entertainment (July/Aug).

Location
Getting there...
From Cherbourg port take N13 south for about 2 km. Branch right on D650 (previously D904) signed Carteret. Continue for 18 km. to Les Pieux. Take D4 in town and turn left just after ‘Super U’ supermarket. Follow site signs via D117/517.
