Carefully developed over the years from a former quarry, le Châtelet is pleasantly and quietly situated with lovely views over the estuary from many pitches. It is well laid out, mainly in terraces with fairly narrow access roads. There are 216 good sized pitches separated by hedges, all with electricity and 112 with water and drainage. Some pitches are around a little lake (unfenced) which can be used for fishing. Used by three different tour operators (73 pitches). A ‘green’ walking area is a nice feature around the lower edge of the site and a path leads from the site directly down to a beach (about 200 m. but including steps).
Facilities
Four toilet blocks with access at different levels include washbasins in cabins and facilities for children. Three small toilet blocks on the lower terraces. Some facilities are closed outside July/Aug. Motorcaravan services. Heated swimming and paddling pools. Shop for basics, takeaway, bar lounge and general room with satellite TV and pool table. ‘Zen’ room for rest, meditation and massage sessions (high season). Games room. Play area. Organised games and activities in season. Dancing (June, July and Aug).

Getting there...
Best approach is to turn off D786 road at Matignon towards St Cast; just inside St Cast limits turn left at sign for ‘campings’ and follow camp signs on C90.
