Camping Gaalgebierg

Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg, Luxembourg

Alan Rogers Review

Occupying an elevated position on the edge of town, near the French border, this site is run by the local camping and caravan club. Although surrounded by hills and with a good variety of trees, not all pitches have shade. Of the 150 grass pitches marked out by trees, 75 per cent are taken up by seasonal caravans. There is a gravel area set aside for one night stays, plus four all-weather pitches for motorcaravans although these are used mostly in the winter. All pitches have 16A electricity and TV points and WiFi is available at a small cost. The site operates its own minibus to the nearby station for visits to Luxembourg city.

Location

Getting there...
Site is well signed from centre of Esch, but a sharp look out is needed as there are two acute right-hand bends on the approach to the site.
